I can’t wait to see how the post quantum authentication transition plays out. USG is heavily reliant on FIPS 201 smart cards for user authentication. They have millions of cards in the field, with most today exclusively using RSA.
No PQ smart cards are yet commercially available, though Thales has one undergoing a CC EAL6+ evaluation at the moment. PQ smart cards issuance infrastructure, physical access control systems etc don’t exist yet either.
