From the Video in [1], 100 Kwh that last 30 years compared to $70 Kwh that last 15 years. Correct me if I am wrong.
It seems to me Sodium is still cheaper if I am not mistaken. At this rate and future production scale the same Sodium system would likely cost less than $50 /Kwh by 2030. And potentially reaching $25 if not lower.
If CATL could ramp production fast enough, I won't be surprised this would have a positive effect on solar generation and Wind Power world wide, further pushing demand. China has already slow down solar installation because the grid isn't quite keeping up. Otherwise they have the capacity to double their current Solar and Wind installation by 2035. This would potentially have more than 50% of electricity coming from Wind and Solar. And that is not including they have over 30 Nuclear Power Plant under construction, with 30 more in planning stage.
Grid Battery is the Key to renewable energy. Their stated Goal of net zero by 2060. I wouldn't be surprised if they achieve it before 2040.
