Author here. I wrote this after starting my journey to replace some of the most common apps I used on a regular basis. I found myself constantly inundated by distracting ads, and kept running into core features that were unnecessarily paywall blocked. I think we can raise our expectations for utilities like this, and even go beyond simple utilities to make hosted and more complex solutions more accessible to others.

Great idea, Josh. It's always a pain in the ass to download a simple app, and it's acting like it's the most awesome tool in the world that we must pay $9 per week to have the privilege of using it.
