Do YC companies get preference on the homepage?

1•e_i_pi_2•1h ago
I'm guessing the answer is yes, but I see a lot of posts about jobs at YC companies that don't seem like they're getting enough attention to be on the homepage. I'm assuming they artificially put them there to help them, but that feels like ads/spam since this is generally used as a forum.

If that is the case then admins probably can't do much about it, but it'd be good to keep that in the `jobs` tab or something so it's not cluttering up the news page

Perhaps you can familiarize yourself with the guidelines[0] (Please don't post on HN to ask or tell us something. Send it to hn@ycombinator.com.) and the FAQ[1] (Another kind of job ad is reserved for YC-funded startups. These appear on the front page, but are not stories: they have no vote arrows, points, or comments. They begin partway down and fall steadily. Only one is on the front page at a time. The rest are listed at jobs. )

Ah thank you! Sorry didn't know about those, I do still think they should keep it off the homepage but if that's their policy then that's their prerogative haha
