The Korg ER-1 Electribe drum machine has 4 oscillators, which I always thought would be perfect for playing contrapuntal music in the style of J.S. Bach. The problem is that as a drum machine, it doesn't interpret MIDI pitch in any conventional way, so I wrote a Python script that will translate MIDI notes into settings that produce pitch approximations on the ER-1. I actually like the "detuned" effect this produces; maybe it even gets at a tuning closer to what might have been used in Bach's time.
