When I look at people who say they've achieved something with AI, they all seem to be at or above a certain level in their field. There's clearly a 'stratification of input' happening.

I don't have a degree or anything like that, so I'm worried about how to survive in this phenomenon.

blinkbat•11h ago
learn how to do what you want to do (software?) without AI before ever stepping foot inside agentic solutions. that's how you'll survive.

edit: simply amazing to get voted down for this. apparently "become competent" is bad advice on hn now.

jdw64•10h ago
I did learn it first, but I'm still worried. I'm writing programs, but whether that's the right thing to do is a different matter
hoppp•9h ago
Lots of new people entering the space who were not competent enough to learn to program and now think they can be the equal of somebody with decades of experience.

AI is great, yes but prompting makes people more stupid so I think as nature strives for balance, the intelligence will be balanced too and the smarter clankers get the dumber humans get.
