If you need "constant networking" it means job markets are inefficient or there is not enough opportunities. Constant networking is how you get ahead in third and developing world like India.

Problem: macro level systemic inefficiency that makes everything 10% harder on average.

Solution: everyone just tries to 10% harder.

There is also a solution where the systemic inefficiency is targeted directly and solved, but that's complex and requires something individuals working without coordination can't solve. In low trust individualistic society that's not possible.

Job markets are inefficient which is why networking is useful, it ads information. If one’s labor was a commodity like wheat or something, networking would be useless because buyers already know what wheat is and are just discovering the price. Almost all jobs don’t work that way, except maybe taxi driving and delivery which is why there is no Uber for anything else.
