The response you got was not cynical, it was toxic. The internet is a toxic place.

You shouldn't go to forums to get feedback, you go for exposure, to get users.

There is a significant portion of people that feel better by shitting on everything, they are also very vocal. Tune these people out.

Nothing they say matters, resubmit, make your own subreddit and ban everyone that looks at you funny. They will bitch and moan and call you fascist, but your forum is a place for people to hype and celebrate and discuss what you are doing, not air their mental illness nor shit on your work.

If they have legitimate issues, point them to a support channel and kill the discussion.
