Sell Your AI Skills?

Love the idea, but in practicality I'd want to see a reproducible example that end users can't just take a description of the skill and throw it at an LLM to get most of the way there for free.

You'd also need to prove to a buyer that an LLM isn't already better at producing these skills from scratch. That's debatable per recent commentary from those at the cutting edge of developing harnesses and models.

Personally I suspect the value of any such skills rapidly decreases over the course of days/weeks once any marketplace signals the ones that are popular.

Thanks for feedback :)

I think there's a ton to hide besides the description. I see agent skills as new digital form of sharing or selling your knowledge, so I can compare it to the course someone is selling - can you get the value of the course by linking the LLM to their landing page?

Proving it to the buyer is definitely a challenge, I have a couple of ideas on how to achieve it, but it requires a lot of testing and iterations which I'm doing right now :D I'm sure sometimes I'll just need to accept that, as you're saying, LLM IS better at producing some skills. Creators (and me) just need to find the places where it's not.

I can imagine repeatable work is usually being done better by LLM by itself than doing it based on human-made skill, but I don't think you can say it about creative work where uniqueness matters - like marketing.

Can I sell a SKILL that audits pages for Claude writing?

trebuh•17m ago
I'll be the first one to buy it :)

But on a real note, I don't try to hide that the marketplace was created with AI assistance and there's still a lot to improve. Thanks for pointing that out - I'll review the copy again :D

Yeah nothing wrong with using AI. Your site looks good. But I'm always triggered by the failure modes. They're load-bearing for me. :)
