With electoral college, and a committed 72M voters religiously voting to him since 2016, it is no surprise. Him being destructive is just a side-effect, and it is just Trump being Trump. They would’ve still voted for him if he was just a barking dog (no bite).

I kind of feel like maybe we can dispense with the electoral college at this point, as the issue of keeping slave-owning states in the union by ensuring rural votes outweigh urban votes no longer seems relevant.
