> Around that time, Starlink’s satellite internet service was becoming widely available. Many of WJBTN’s potential clients asked why they shouldn’t just purchase that instead of a fiber-optic connection that involved drilling into their homes.

I feel like this is one of those things where we need a mass education campaign about signal bandwidth, and that wireless is for things that need to move around while maintaining connectivity or things that are just impractical to wire. If it can be wired it should be wired. Starlink and its future competition should not be used as a primary internet connection by anyone that is practical to wire. It's great for RVs, boats, aircraft, etc. and is a wonderful backup connection with a guaranteed diverse physical route that can't be affected by local backhoe activities but it should not even be in the running for a primary connection anywhere that a PON network is practical.
