A Chrome extension that magically autofills job applications from your CV

Hey folks!

I’m building Self, a platform that turns your CV into a personal website in under a minute. You upload your CV, and Self creates a shareable profile with your experience, education, skills, projects, and other professional information.

While working on it, I realized that the same structured information could also be used to solve another frustrating problem: repeatedly entering the same details into job application forms.

So I built a Chrome extension called Resume Autofill for Job Applications.

The extension connects to your existing Self page and automatically fills in application fields such as your contact information, work experience, education, skills, and links. It can also generate answers for open-ended questions like: “What kind of team environment helps you do your best work?”, “Why are you interested in this role?” …and all the other HR questions we know and love.

The goal is to make applying faster without requiring users to manually set up another profile or re-enter information they have already provided.

I’d really appreciate feedback, especially on:

- The quality of the generated answers

- Anything in the onboarding or extension interface that feels unclear

Feel free to try it and let me know your results!

Cheers!
