So exciting. I've been looking forward to this for a while.

The Windows IDE should be renamed to Wind. Now they’d have Earth, Wind, and Fire.

$199 for a personal license? The UI looks vibe-coded, it uses GTK3 design primitives that have been outdated for a half-decade by now. The FOSS GNOME Builder app has a nicer UI: https://apps.gnome.org/Builder/

If I was evaluating frameworks for shipping a native app, the UI of this IDE would give me pause...

vintagedave•1m ago
It follows the same UI design as Fire and Water. Check out what Water (for example) looks like here: https://www.remobjects.com/elements/water/

I would personally choose the phrase 'aiming for consistency' over 'vibe coded' ;) That said, version 1. I'm sure there are areas to improve! We have supported building Linux apps for years, but this is our first major app for Linux ourselves.

There are similarities. Our screenshots don't show it but all three IDEs have a left-side sidebar with top tabs just like the Builder screenshots show it has as well. Definite common ideas. Much of our UI design has roots in macOS.

(Disclaimer: I work at RemObjects, and have worked on Fire and Water but not on Earth.)
