I'm considering learning video editing as a hedge against AI
Considering the proliferation of AI-driven video tools that seems like an odd choice. The mechanics of video editing is already moving to AI, and the 'taste' of video editing will probably fall to 'copy how classic movies did it' automatically in the same tools.
Personally, I moved into an Engineering Manager role 3 years ago partly as a hedge against the future of software development (but also money and fun.) I think I'll work with software until I retire but much more as a people manager, or maybe an 'agent manager' somehow.
