I'll note that they got the figures of civilians from Iran itself, which was mentioned right after the line that you copy and pasted from but conveniently left out. It would be wise to be skeptical of the figures from Iran, just like it would be wise to be skeptical of the figures from Hamas. They have an incentive to lie.

Having said that, this doesn't seem like the right weapon for a civilian area at all. I don't know the target, maybe in the long run it was worth it. We may never know. But last I heard the figure of civilians killed by the IRGC in the past year was over 52,000. If we can get closer to the end of that regime and save lives, perhaps there will be some small semblance of understanding.
