We've been in a golden age of abundance since roughly when the industrial revolution started.
It used to be required for us to work for it. It still does, but it used to too.
Of the pontifications people have about what future that will or won't come with human-replacing AI, I find I don't really trust them as predictions; rather, they are Rorschach tests, "do you see hope or terror in this ink blot, and what does your answer say about you?"
