Visor started with my own kids. I actually think YouTube has a lot of good content for kids, but I was tired of the weird video recommendations, ads, and most of all YT Shorts! I was looking for a way to simply say: these channels are fine, everything else isn't.
I couldn't really find one, so I built Visor. Parents approve channels, kids get their own curated YouTube experience, and they can request new channels when they find something they're interested in. No Shorts, no ads, and no algorithm rabbit holes.
My background is design-focused, so I've spent a lot of time refining ux and sweating the tiny details. Also, my kids have been dogfooding it from the start, which has shaped a lot of those decisions.
