Does anyone know YouTube's pre-2006's des key?

5•kyer_bananaclan•49m ago
Hey so as me (representing a group of people researching old youtube) We have a lot of archives of old youtube which are hard to order and put together, videos like quick stoppie or dante comes home can not be put in a list of 621,355 videos coming from the youtube api. back then the key was just a mysql primary id encrypted with des. We have a list of 621,355 of post-2006 ids (still used today but we do not have the key, just called channelsections on user/simmonsfam817). at some point in late february 2006, the key was changed and we can no longer do anything about it so we are asking where our sources come from (here). Hopefully this is the right place to ask in. -Kyer

the question is: do you know approximately a well known plaintext from a ciphertext?
kyer_bananaclan•41m ago
yes but no endianness, we have about 121,000 plain->cipher. Well we are not that sure that it was des or 3des:https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=25302558 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=27036740 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=27611436

What’s the difficulty level of brute forcing the DES key with a GPU?
kyer_bananaclan•23m ago
i dont have a dedicated gpu its a laptop gpu (hp probook 640 g1) from 2016.
toomuchtodo•19m ago
I’ll trade GPU time to brute force the key for a copy of the archive for the Internet Archive, assuming the key is of a length that can be brute forced in a reasonable amount of time.

(no affiliation with the Internet Archive, I am just a rando)

kyer_bananaclan•14m ago
you mean the spreadsheet or the videos themselves? Ill check with the people im with. Just download this meanwhile:https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/10xL4QgSZuTYyQsDFod7g...
