Then these people will give 100x more credit to the ideas you try to censor, just because they are associated with “being against you”.

Twitter and what has now been rebranded Woke 1.0 is another example that backfired massively.

I actually think this is wrong but for depressing reasons.

America is not going to end up convincing Americans Trumpism is wrong. Trump is going to die.

I think for a lot of things, basically macro factors have more to say than your philosophical ideals.

Censorship doesn’t work in America and probably doesn’t work in Germany because the dominant group doesn’t have enough power to make it work.

Woke happened for macroeconomic reasons and the end of woke happened for macroeconomic reasons.

But it’s not like it’s crazy to fear 1984 because “that could never happen here”.

The point is 2008, NAFTA and the rise of the economic competitors was always going to create a political nightmare and immigration was always going to appear more emotionally salient and attainable than the left wing version.

Good ideas will always fall the the most emotionally salient ideas. It’s not about convincing people you’re right, it’s about finding the most charismatic person you can to package the most sugar loaded ideas and selling them back to people.
