Ask HN: Is using AI harmful to human Critical Thinking and Decision making?

3•skwasimin•55m ago
In my childhood I watched a lot of Doraemon movies, Science fiction series and Animes. Those movies were showing how being completely dependent on AI, Robots can lead to lack of human brain development. Even some movies showed it can cause extinction of the human race.

lack of awareness of what processes technology takes over for you will lead yo cognitive decline in those areas. if they are important to you its best to try and be aware. it all depends on awareness and how its used given that awareness.

Like auto complete degrades slowly the ability to properly spell words. If you don't use it, surely you will gain more of the skills than when you do use it.

I think it's true when you are lack judgment, people are tending to be lazy and may trust ai too easily, that's bad for a person's development and that's why US forbids use of AI for kids?
