Ask HN: What would make you pay $1 per month for a social media?

1•busymom0•45m ago
Current social media platforms are free while using ads and selling data.

Are there any specific features in a new platform which you would find worth it to pay $1 per month?

That makes no sense. If antisocial "media" platforms make 1000's out of you, while you think that is a "free service", it makes sense for them to pay you, not the other way around.

1. No advertising

2. A well defined recommendation algorithm, with parameters can tune to fit my taste

3. Separate sections for discovering new content, to see content from people i follow and to see content from people i know irl

4. Possibly of completely reset the learning “the algorithm” has done about me
