I am a physicist and I contribute to the development of an open-source, massively parallel simulation code. Writing code is maybe 10-15% of my working time. I code without AI because I find it more interesting: who enjoys reviewing AI-generated PRs?!.

Never left. I use it when I get stuck on something or want to think through some ideas and check whats possible, not possible, why x path was chosen instead of y etc.
