Show HN: SIM Screener adds device frames to screenshots and recordings

https://simscreener.com
1•IgorAmidzic•56m ago
Well I posted too soon. You can't install it yet. Oops!

Hey HN, I'm Igor. I built Sim Screener because Xcode 27's new Device Hub made taking a nice simulator screenshot impossible.

Before Device Hub, you could screenshot the Simulator window and crop off the controls at the top.

Now there's a background around the device that ends up in your screenshot. Device Hub's capture button gives you a clean image, but without the device frame.

Solution:

Sim Screener watches your capture folder and automatically adds the matching iPhone or iPad frame. You get a screenshot with a transparent background, ready to copy, save, or drag into another app. It also frames recordings and supports transparent video exports.

There are websites where you can upload screenshots and add frames manually. I wanted this to happen locally, as I work, without visiting a website every time I need to share a screenshot.

One time purchase only, runs on Mac only.
