Reddit mods, like stack over flow mods of yore, ruin the things they touch. There is something about being an internet janny. Reddits weekly x threads are useless, it doesnt map with the way reddit is used. So they also become a total ban. A programming sub banning code, is some kind of hilarity. Theyll have drama posts now, and thats it?

On the other hand, the proliferation of shovelware Show HNs is a problem. Now that anyone can "create" a project and that project is so much less likely to have any quality or still be active and maintained in 3 months, they're not worth the same level of attention. And they're usually from spammers with little to no activity here other than self promotion.
