PuliteOS is a fictional operating system that runs in your browser. It has its own process model, locks, and virtual file system. There’s an intranet too, including a fictional forum with posts dating back to 2001.

I started by writing about how to keep a memory alive, then spent a few years turning it into a running system. You piece together the story by exploring what users left behind and how the system responds to your actions.
