Now we are all orphans. When the World Wide Web was created, everybody was on Yahoo. I was there. I uploaded my Web URL, and I was in business. True most of my customers came from a few few blurbs on usenet… one or more magazine ads. But eventually money and cronyism takes everything away from the public. But it’s not about advertising, it’s about having a free market.
The reason I’m talking to you now is because this website is a tiny piece of the free market.
There are some jobs for sale, and readers could apply, so there’s some labor for sale. You’ve heard a whole lot about Spam. Spam is a lie.
There is no pork on the Internet. You can see pictures, you could buy it, you could study it’s financial futures. But there is no pork. It doesn’t fit through the wire.
What there is, is a potential free market, and a massive racket in its place. What is a racket? Well when you advertise on social media, you’re pushing other people down. If you push yourself in, you push everyone else down. That’s a cock fight. Two chickens in the ring, tearing each other’s eyes out. Perfect… But it’s not a free market, it’s a giant arm around the neck of the people, strangling every business, forcing them to spend money, and then more money because the first guy spent money, and then more money again because the other business spent more money too.
And guess who pays for it? 100+billion per year.. I’ll give you a hint… If you’re still reading it, it’s you. No these are not the kind of problems mere mortals can solve. So maybe we all need to pray more. But I think this is considered an informed hacker community… that is. if you’re wearing a white hat, you’re somebody who does a lot of work. And it’s complicated work. Which adds to the weight. It’s hackers who made the World Wide Web. But I think we have all let it slide.
We need to protect the free market, in fact, we need to create a free market.
Google became a gauntlet of useless criteria, like you’re blinie and you’re dinghy and your font and whether you have a blog…
In order to be a free market, it has to be —equal, random and verifiable.
You don’t know which basket you’re gonna walk past in the marketplace. If you search for apples, you might get seller a, B or C. I know they pretend to make it fair.
But we also have cancel—-culture, PayPal disrupts my transactions. Their excuses are not important here.
My email provider used to slam my email for 24 hours if I emailed more than 95 customers at once. Which quite honestly was probably 50% spam folder, 30% ignored, 50% unconsciously deleted… we wouldn’t have that problem if people had a place where they could market. And we would embrace it if we could filter what we wanted from Email.
If you want to buy and sell things, there must be a —working— free and fair market.
And that also includes speech.
I don’t know if anyone will see my message here. Having just logged in it’s difficult for me to even create a new habit of logging in. I can hardly afford to maintain a new community. But you should be aware that America used to be a free market economy. And now it’s an unregulated closed racket economy.

Money buys market. Then market becomes unavailable. No one would ever sell you Web access if you could make a dollar, they would have to charge you a dollar. If you made $1000 they would have to charge you $1000. I used to find that was true in advertising. It was just literally how much money people wanted to give away. They figure well we’ll make at least that much money so that’s how much they just gave away. $1000 ad and you’d make $1000 worth of sales in a month. But typically they would throw other people’s advertising right on top of you. So you buy an ad, and then you end up with 10% of a space that’s rotated. I was at a popular website in Vancouver, and my banner had showed up every time I went to the page — but if I clicked again, it would never come up. Everything got rigged.
So in the beginning, it was good. Now we have to work really hard to make it work at all. Most of you if you are hackers are just working for somebody who’s milking the scam. I understand that I always worked for people who had a gig somewhere. Why scam? Because your email provider is not supposed to be turning off your email just because they don’t like that you do business online. I know they think Spam exists. But it’s not it. It’s people trying to do business because the search engines failed. They promote juggernaut, and they hide you. Not to mention that I was severely powered, so they weren’t buying my “widget”, they were buying smidgits and fidgets.. with different names and colors, but all reflecting my patents and copyrights. You think this is a real country but if you had to enforce a patent, you would need billionaire money. If I had the money to enforce a patent, I would just invest that and retire.
What I’m trying to say is a lot of things work pretty easily. You can login with Google or Apple. But this should’ve happened a long time ago and it should be done differently. I hate to change everything, but you have a voice you have a fingerprint you even have a face and a hand if you had to show it. No one should ever have to remember another password. You are a walking hash file. No one would ever ask you to change anything again.
Email, you should be able to send whatever email you want, and I should be able to filter whatever Email I want. Why is this taking so long?
Web, you have a Social Security number, why can’t you just have IP address with that. Now this is a little technical, but you log onto (your.gov) and it’s just all there. You don’t even have to remember the password you already logged into your computer with your fingerprint, and a voice if you’re really groovy. Why is this taking so long?
Buying and selling? All advertising is unfair manipulation of the market using big bucks. Yes some of it is promotion of people with small books. But if we are constantly manipulating the market, it’s not going to be what you want. It will belong to somebody with more money. And then they will make more money and have more money to buy the market away from you. It’s a collapsing system.
For this reason, the government should be selling all advertising just the way Google did. If you wanted an ad, you could put a Google banner on your webpage. But now, if Google wants to sell banners, they should get it from uncle Sam.
No, it’s not communism, did you ever try to get a Copyright? Their website is so horrendously annoying complicated. It discourages creativity. But if you upload a song, you still have to go to SoundCloud (prison for music) or CD baby… Because (won’t take you) Apple won’t take you.. you have to be someplace else already. —-but listen closely, if you register a piece of music, you’ve already uploaded it to uncle Sam. Why do you have to do that again? Can’t uncle Sam serve the music? You upload your original demo, and then you upload your professional mix of that demo. You two slots.. but it won’t take you a half an hour to log on and get a extra thing and reset your password and do juggity gig.. no.. cause you already logged on with your fingerprint, so your browser knows who you are.
So you would go to your.gov and you could buy and sell, you could get a Copyright, you could make sure that your web provider didn’t change the address of your FTP… Because your Web provider wouldn’t do that if it was the government, because changing your IP address would cost money. That’s an unfunded mandate.
Buy sell, advertise, register, all of it. Your data one place very simple. Now hackers of course that’s somebody else’s job. Those of you who are specialist in protecting us, we rarely know who to thank.. I guess that’s just the way it is. Like whoever really invented the web. Or vapes.. there’s no time for everyone to be famous. I’ve gone on for too long. But 25 years ago, I was online with a webpage and a business, and my browser had an editor. Push one button and it will upload.
In the beginning, it was good. We need to get back.
I’m writing to you on this forum because I’m hoping that whoever would run this forum would be interested in making a better Web, making this forum so attractive and so useful that it would basically explode into your.gov
The www exploded into your market, before collapse in into the closed racket economy.
I hope that some of the simplifications I’ve described here can be understood by this more informed community, as a Steve Jobs type innovation. Remember everything he did was really simple. He just made it really nice from your perspective. You need to point to the screen. he gave you a mouse. You need to write something, he gave you WYSIWIG word processors. Everything was to make it easy for you.
Those of you who work on the backend have probably seen enough complexity for a lifetime.
