There are probably thousands of these little experiences about being a kid that have been lost to time.
But I was thinking about browsing magazines for computer advertisements as a kid. This would be in the late 80’s early 90’s and the idea about dreaming about experiences. Almost any visual experience anyone in the world wants to have now they can pull up YouTube and have it.
But I specifically remember the neo-geo ads.
Not that anyone can have anything in 2026. But there was this certain kind of childhood imaginative wonder in browsing those ads that I think is lost today. I remember neo geo was like $6-800 dollars, each game $4-600.
