It amused me because I made the discovery I can shoot candids of people on the street with a 70-200mm towards the wide range shooting "from the hip" [1] without looking at the screen or through the viewfinder. Earlier I found people are suspicious if you cradle a camera with a 50mm or something wider in your arms, even if you take pictures with a remote trigger in my hand. But point an absurdly huge and conspicuous lens right at them in an outstretched arm [2] and they just don't seem to notice but maybe it helps that I use a glamour and look like
