Hi HN, I’m Naman, a CS student, and I built TandemCode (free and open source) because practicing coding problems with a friend usually meant juggling a call, a shared screen, and separate places to run code. I also believe that technical interviews are changing, and LeetCode is no longer the right abstraction for preparing. Although right now I only have leetcode style questions on TandemCode, looking for suggestions for more types of questions and features I can add to it.

You can create a room, invite a partner, work in the same editor, and chat while you solve a problem. When you submit, you both see the verdict from the test runner. It currently has 15 problems and supports Python.

It’s an early build, and sign-in is required to create or join a room. I’d especially appreciate feedback from anyone who tries a session with a friend: where did the experience feel awkward, or what would make you want to use it again? What other features would you wish for? If you are someone hiring in the tech scene, what are skills that you feel are lacking in some candidates and what would be the best practice abstraction for it?
