Nah, some parents just suck as humans. I’d cut my parent off if I didn’t provide them housing and financial support to survive. They are unwilling to become a better human, but will die eventually. I am meeting my moral burden.

Family is who you choose, not shared DNA percentage. Sucks to suck, try not to suck, parents aren’t owed anything from a social or relationship perspective, it isn’t a choice to be born and you don’t get to pick your parents.
