Where I come from (France), official data show 13% of population takes pills for anxiety, and I didn't want for personal reason increase that statistic.
Unfortunately, at that time (now I'm 44), all informations on the topic was very fragmented, and ultimately the self discovery journey to understand my trigger, find peace, and take control of my anxiety took way too much time.
For me Anxiety and avoidance behavior result in staying way too long in situation I should have avoided (relationship, business)
But in this journey, I also meet incredible therapist, daily relaxation method, and technique for self discovery that I accept it as part of a cool life journey.
4 years ago I decided I want to share this, first with a book (that I sold to 45 people ) and a Checklist (yes... not the right format, I was just replicating my other business "SEO Checklist") while building my content Hub, the Anxiety University, that grew from 0 to 78 human made article
Then I decided to invest into my own CBT Training Program and first hypnotherapy session but lost all money because the therapists I hired got cancer (and the other one hide the situation to burn my 30k invest to produce it)
I then pivot to a full fledge mobile app, without AI (more on that later) and cut a deal with a Neuro Psychologist in NY and Panic Expert in Australia to license their course. But the bundle inside the app looked too much as a "Upsell Money Grab" so I eventually shut this down recently.
3 Years later, Anxiety Checklist is DR70 and thanks to AI and Claude Code, I finally have a good app with proper tracking and can use data to improve my onboarding, understand better my audience, and itterate 10x faster (and cheaper) but with strong old school human made fondation.
Today I'm launching on Product Hunt with new onboarding showing 7% download to free trial conversion rate, and hope that I'll finally have something I can scale with ads.
For me it's not just about the money, I really like this mission, but as any business, I need the economic to make sense to add more content, hire more talent, and marketing to get more exposure.
Anyhow, the journey was fun, even though I burned 225k USD in this venture over 3 years... I called it my money pitt :))
My plan if paid aquisition fail is to put everything free and launch a therapist directory (the app is in complement of therapy, not a replacement)
3 Years, multiple pivot, still not profitable, that's my lame story, but still not giving up.
