I'm Yash, the founder of TabX - a sidepanel extension for Chrome that recalls Chrome tabs by meaning, auto-groups your tabs by intent, offers an AI web search that fetches an ordered list of results for you to act on (while leaving out SEO farms) and much more.

I love using the Chrome web browser but could not stand the slow rollout of native AI features within it. "Ask Gemini" can answer a question about the page in front of you but retains no context on the 10 pages leading up to the current page. It is largely reactive rather than proactive. Browsers such as Dia, and Comet have a taken a stab at this but haven't enjoyed strong traction due to high browser switching costs and inertia among Chrome users.

I thought, why not augment Chrome, which we love and use every day, with productivity features that make browsing more intuitive and assistive? And hence, TabX!

What it does:

recall a page by meaning ("That article on Posthog setup I was reading", "The video on Hyrox training from last week"). It retrieves the matching pages (by title and content) and once you click a result, it switches to that page and highlights the passage that matches your intent

@mention a tab or a tab group to ask any question and it grounds answers in the pages you've actually read while citing those as well.

It infers your browsing intent (say, "Meal Prep Research", "Hyrox training routines") based on your browsing pattern across tabs and groups similar tabs into color coded stacks on the Chrome Tab strip automatically

next step suggestions - based on what you're working on presently, it automatically points you to the next most relevant/useful tab to achieve your browsing goal

timelines - all your page visits get grouped into research sessions which you can 1 click to restore and the tabs open up in the precise order that you browsed them

online mode - a web search mode that retrieves 3-5 ranked link results with a short results summary. It filters out SEO farms automatically

How it works:

The stack is a Manifest v3 side panel that sends each page's text to a Nest JS backend where it gets embedded into Postgres with pgVector. Recall combines vector and full-text search, and summaries, tab grouping and next-step suggestions come from LLMs routed through OpenRouter.
