Ask HN: Do you even use Copilot? Why would someone prefer this to just ChatGPT?

Hello HN, I am investigating different AI tools for my org, and am trying to understand why you might go with the Microsoft copilot license (currently $30 more than the basic O365 license we already pay for) instead of Chatgpt $20 license and just connect it to Microsoft products. If you have any personal experience, or things that you've found useful/annoying, please share.

My gut is telling me we should just go with giving people Claude/ChatGPT, but management is interested in Copilot.

Enterprise inertia. Similar to Teams > Slack "because it comes with the Microsoft license or O365 tenant." Once an org grows beyond a certain size, vendor onboarding and management friction becomes real.

Fair enough, our users are a broad range of severely non-technical to technical. We have our IT team manage the admin portals for these kinds of things, so not sure there's a huge difference between IT managing the copilot admin vs chat admin.

Have you asked what the process and effort looks like to onboard OpenAI as a vendor? Ask questions to decompose the system to understand the system.
