Ask HN: How do you choose the right architecture?

2•bix6•1h ago
Software engineers often tell me that vibe coding frequently chooses the wrong architecture. So does anyone have advice for helping it choose the right one or otherwise avoiding pitfalls?

For example a front post page right now is getting lit up for using tesseract when they could’ve used Apple’s built in OCR.

I tell it the architecture I want. No SOLID, No DRY. Use KISS & YAGNI. BUT -- it should be based on your preferences.

Ask it questions before to get a feel for what is available.

Then on the 4th to 7th attempt, it looks pretty good.
