Ever since I started skiing 2 years ago, I've been completely obsessed with skiing and all aspects of going on a ski trip (the scenery, the food, the thrill of skiing, the community).
I was looking at the different ski tracking apps out there but none of them met my need: simple, give me a big living map showing an overview of my ski journey, and let me track exact slopes I’ve ridden with stats like how many red and black runs I've done.
No other app does this, and that was my motivation to build Slopely.
This has been an absolutely beautiful project for me as I get to work on something I’m passionate about. I also get to work with map technology, which I find very fascinating. Map is quite a nice medium to build applications on. I built this app thankfully to a lot of open source/free map technologies like MapTiler, OpenSkiMap, OpenFreeMap, OpenStreetMap
