That was the idea, inspired by some other NLP-based games. Instead of picking troops, you spell them from a rack of letters. The meaning of the word sets what the unit does: SNAKE poisons, GHOST goes invisible, DRAGON flies and burns.
Power comes only from length, rare letters and how rare the word is, so long weird words hit hard. Every word you play goes into your collection, which lives on a little farm, in a Stardew Vally fashion, bc why not ahah
A little note about how it's made: each word's card was written by a language model from its dictionary definition, after a first pass with word embeddings. I couldn't review all the 49k cards, so some are pretty funny to discover, but you can always find some sense to it, like as JAZZ does splash damage (?)
