That's because nVidia sucks at desktop Linux, nothing new here. They've also been slow to adapt to Wayland (and it has been a rocky road) so they're not really qualified to make any comments on this.

AMD Wayland gamers know how much faster and smoother Wayland is, Phoronix also proved this with numbers.
