I never thought I would ever say something like this, but that's the way the world is now. I sincerely hope Adobe's lawyers completely and utterly crush this guy.
CharlieDigital•17m ago
Why? He didn't decompile nor copy any Adobe code.

He's offering free alternatives to the world and making software available to people who otherwise wouldn't be able to afford it. Some school in rural India or Africa can now teach kids how to use computers for media editing. Adobe has moved their software behind subscriptions for a decade+ now and costs hundreds each year, even with a edu discount.

Why would anyone wish for him to lose against Adobe when he's built this effectively from scratch using his own token budget and shared it to the world?

novaRom•42m ago
It will not just affect big software monopolies, but also hardware designer companies, cloud and streaming services. What the point to buy or pay subscriptions if you can reimplement it in a matter of days if not hours? A lot of business opportunities for small (even solo) enterprises. That's the power of AI revolution.
