Show HN: Claude Code spinner verbs reflect the model (Haiku: Licking screen..)

https://github.com/CharlesSS07/claude-model-spinners
1•spaghettio•41m ago
I found it tricky to know which intelligence level (effort+model) my claude code is on so I used the claude mod system to make the spinner verbs depend on intelligence level and bake in jokes.

This plugin sorts the spinner verbs into six tiers by model + effort: Haiku gets "Licking the screen...", sonnet gets "Force-pushing to main...", Fable "Remembering the future..."

How it works: this is a 20 line registry file plus a 120 line verbs file. If you want to add custom verbs, modify verbs.ts. The only slighlty hacky workaround claude did was using hooks to identify the effort level since it's not exposed by the mods api. It takes the word claude code originally sampled and maps that to the word list.

Please send PRs with better verbs! Only rules: can't communicate something concrete about the code (like "Deleting and force pushing the codebase...", as that would make users lose their minds), and must correlate to model+effort level.
