For the past few months on evenings and weekends, I’ve been working on a music notation editor for iPad and Mac called Autograph.
It has mcp support, so you can drive it from Claude Code or claude desktop. It’s not just an AI wrapper there is a full music notation engine written in Swift, engraving, playback and pdf export.
Please ask any questions or feedback and I’ll be sure to be online for the morning/day. I’m looking for what’s missing in the for how you write music and what’s broken especially for handwriting recognition on iPad.
Oh and Autograph collects no personal information, but you can select record handwriting on iPad and send me the records so I can improve the handwriting recognition engine, which is rules-based, not a trained model. Also there's a 28 day free trial and 29.99$ thereafter, no subscription.
It’s not for engraving a symphony although maybe it’ll get there eventually. There’s also lots of stuff in the pipeline so feel free to ask.
Who am I: I’m a longtime musician and developer based in Toronto. I take singing and tenor sax lessons. I built it as kind of a love of coding and music.
Thanks
