My understanding had always been that LLMs could not generate construction blueprints because they don't understand physical structures or how they need to interact, they're just putting together visual elements that they've seen elsewhere. This company claims to create construction ready blueprints using AI, but they don't mention anything about how the drawings are created other than that they use customer-provided templates and guides and they 'consult relevant building codes'. They also say you need a licensed architect to sign off on a drawing before submitting for a building permit.

Is anybody aware of any advances in LLM capabilities that would allow it to for example generate a drawing of two physical wood planks that have to connect together for structural support, or provide routing for electrical wiring?
