Yandex outage: data shows that instead of going dark, malicious bots moved

Honestly the "Russian bots" trope has jumped the shark at this point. Maybe a side effect of too many Bond films.

The bot farms from Seychelles, India, and every other corner of the world have not stopped.

Not all bots wear sable hats.

What other providers did they shift to? So we can block them?

> When traffic from Yandex networks collapsed, speculation spread across the Internet that Russian influence operations and malicious botnets had suffered a crippling blow. Cloudflare data tells a different story: across Cloudflare's network, there was no evidence that the strikes knocked social media manipulation offline or otherwise disrupted malicious activity on the Internet.

It's almost as if the whole idea of Russian "influence operations" is propaganda and overblown huh? We're blasted with Israeli propaganda 24/7 at an ever increasing rate, yet you won't hear about it from any of these big corps, it's nothing but Russia, Russia, Russia! My trust in any of this is near zero. When they start addressing the elephant in the room, I'll start taking these reports seriously.

Buried lede:

>across Cloudflare's network, there was no evidence that the strikes knocked social media manipulation offline or otherwise disrupted malicious activity on the Internet.

This directly refutes the popular memes going around that russian trolls magically went offline because of the attack.
