I made this app so I could listen to any text source like a high quality audiobook with Qwen TTS. New systems came online and I thought it would be fun to produce a realtime news broadcast with animated characters. The I began researching the competition before launch. Speechify charges $30 per month for read aloud. ElevenReader charges $12 per month for read aloud.
I built Gravitas Crunch not as a copy cat and came at it from a different angle. But that price point is absurd. I give it fully unlocked for free and features slowly lock as you pay the "token tax". The you get a popup which provides a one-time $19.99 full unlock in app purchase. No subscriptions. No datacenters.
