Show HN: Personal AI on your Mac – SuperDuck.AI (beta testers wanted)

2•dirk94018•58m ago
Personal AI has arrived, and it's now as easy as downloading a Mac app.

SuperDuck.AI runs the model on your own Mac. Your conversations, your files, your notes stay on your machine. No account, no cloud AI needed. There's an iPhone/iPad app that talks to your Mac over an end-to-end encrypted link, so your phone gets the same AI, with the Mac's files and web access, wherever you are.

Under the hood we bundle antirez's ds4 and other inference engines, so installing is one download and the models are files on your disk. The local model is an 80 GB download; several are supported and you pick in Settings. Apple Intelligence works as an engine too, if you'd rather not download a model at all.

For older or slower Macs there's an optional accelerated inference path through a LinuxToaster account, if you have one. It's a switch; off by default.

The harness around the model is ours: the model can't write a file, do a sum, keep the books or look something up without sending a command to the app, and everything it really did shows up as a under the reply. No , nothing happened, and the app says so.

We need beta testers for: - the Mac app (Apple silicon, 16 GB and up; 128 GB recommended for the local model) - the iPhone/iPad app - the harness itself: tell us when the model gets away with something

TestFlight links are at https://superduck.ai

Ask me anything about how it works.
