I used to open most threads here and get reviews or perspectives on the articles posted. Now, it seems like every thread is a pile of personal anecdotes that have little to do with anything the author posted.

Read what you find value in, hide (hide link per thread, ability to collapse comments and subthreads) what you don't. What you're looking for will be different than what others are looking for and what you consider "on topic." Bits are cheap in this context.
