I have an extensive creative background (exhibiting tech artist) in addition to being a web developer with 15+ years of experience. In the past couple of years I've seen the job titles Creative Technologist and Design Engineer pop up on job boards. I have applied to those and never get a response. From what I can tell they don't even bother to look at my portfolio or read my cover letters where I describe the creative background. I have no idea what companies mean when they ask for that now.

What do 'Creative Technologist' or 'Design Engineer' mean to you all, in professional terms?
