Systemd adds support for components written in Rust

Christian Brauner has announced that he has merged support for writing leaf components of systemd in Rust. Rust will be used only for new leaf components, existing code is not being ported to Rust and nothing that other components depend on is written in Rust.

ughhh effin systemd is rusty now, sounds like a bad porno title.

systemd is the worst thing to happen to linux since tivoization. i have to spend abnoxious amounts of time keeping my systems d-free. why are we being forced to allow this trash as root/pid1. We need more distro supporting openrc or sysVinit. Its not fair that i have to practically maintain my own distro just to avoid systemd being shoved down my throat.

i have nothin against rust as a language, but these rust furries need to limp their tails for a second. rust is not the best thing since sliced bread, its toolchain is annoying to build, and adding it to kernel and things, makes building a linux system require more toolchain depends
