Democrats' Secret Effort to Stack Alaska's Ballot

Summary: The New York Times reported that Mary Peltola's Democratic campaign for Alaska's Senate seat recruited a candidate with the same name as Republican incumbent Dan Sullivan on the ballot, in a bid to confuse voters.
HarHarVeryFunny•36m ago
Honestly seems fair game to me - he did qualify to get on the ballot by going through the primary system and ranking #3 (with 2.5% of the vote). Top 4 get on the ballot.
Bluescreenbuddy•41m ago
Legal. And the republicans have done this many times. A nothingburger
zippyman55•30m ago
Yep! I am shocked by the concern. I share a name w a famous artist. I’m going to market my stick figure drawings now.

how is it legal exactly?

So I have two questions:

1. If this is illegal (it isn't [0] ruled by Alaska Supreme Court in June, 2026) then why wasn't the uproar done much earlier? You know the reason. Certain presidents (who shall remain nameless) are desperate beyond measure.

Epstein investigations and revelation of hidden material coming?

2. A bit of trolling HN with repeated duplicate posts? Grow up, kiddies.

everyone: Democrats need to fight as low as Republicans have done for decades!

political hacks: let's do it!

everyone: omg Democrats did something as devious as Republicans! stop them!

this was really stupid though because with Ranked Choice Voting you could have a DOZEN candidates with the same name and it wouldn't matter

literally doesn't help either party with ranked choice, not in the slightest

so stupid

but this is funnier

Judging from the comments in this thread I am 100% convinced we will never have legitimate elections until national voter ID is implemented. You vermin are the reason the toothpaste has to be locked up behind glass cases at Walmart.
