Ask HN: Why does my GitHub project only have 160 stars?

1•gonzar79•1h ago
This project is better and more useful than thousands of other projects on GitHub. It lets people who haven’t written a single line of code create apps or video games right from their Android phone (Apple doesn’t allow this type of app). You can create anything you set your mind to, and it has a store full of apps created by other users that are completely free. However, even though it has thousands of downloads, the number of stars on GitHub isn’t going up. Can someone explain to me what might be going on?? https://github.com/gonzaroman/acornix

Have you ever thought that the average Joe who downloads your app probably has no clue what GitHub is? If you want your stars to go up, you need to target developers, not users.
