Show HN: TechBro Generator – Generate Satirical TechBro Posts

https://techbrogenerator.netlify.app/
48•ahmetomer•7h ago

Comments

tibbar•6h ago
These are funny, but I do note that they start recycling. I’m curious if these are actually being generated or come from a stock library?
ahmetomer•6h ago
They are hardcoded posts. It wasn't worth wiring up an LLM provider for that.
RobRivera•6h ago
So it is not a generator, it's an rng pulling from a catalogue.

A genuinely fun exercise would be to build a from scratch probabiltiy distribution for token generation based on a corpus of real posts that then fuels a techbro generator.

boscillator•6h ago
Ah, I thought they were a little too funny to be computer generated. Makes sense.
ahmetomer•6h ago
Well, then it passed the Turing Test because they are indeed computer-generated (ChatGPT). It's just hardcoded in the HTML file.
pavel_lishin•6h ago
Good thing it's labeled as Satire, lest Poe's Law strike.
ahmetomer•6h ago
Sometimes you can't be too careful.

Now do something more relevant such as an AI bro post generator.
ahmetomer•6h ago
I guess that's the pivot I need. Will consider it.
bwfan123•6h ago
Reminds me of the new-age BS generator [1] which thankfully remains up.

[1] https://sebpearce.com/bullshit/

A parody of the LLM era that we are in.

thomask1995•5h ago
I honestly think this could help you build a following on X lol
ahmetomer•4h ago
This post jumped to HN's 1st rank in 10 minutes but then it was moved to 100 out of nowhere while it was trending. I think HN mods (or algo) didn't like it so it was moved out.

Anyway, it was a good run though!

impish9208•4h ago
Okay, but how did this help you scale your B2B SaaS?
general1726•3h ago
Only thing which I am missing here is a techbro trying to sell me revolutionary pod based transportation system, which is just crippled train in some way.
